I obtained my undergraduate degree from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, India in Biomedical Engineering (BME). My final year thesis included looking at impact of heart rate variability (HRV) on short video clips of happy and horror movies. After receiving the full scholarship for 3 years in Taiwan International  Graduate Program for Interdisciplinary Neurosciences (TIGP – INS), I joined functional Neuroimaging lab to explore statistical properties of bio-signal processing. I passed my qualifying exams in 2016 and became a PhD candidate in this lab. My PhD thesis focuses on looking at emotional inhibition from HRV, EEG and functional imaging perspective and I plan to use various methods in each of these disciplines to understand what impacts cognitive – emotional interactions and which processes underlie them.
